Dr. Steven Capron DVM, FAVD
Veterinarian
Dr. Steven D. Capron, DVM, FAVD was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he attended Salk Elementary, Byrd Junior High, and Tulsa Memorial High School. After high school, he followed his passion for agriculture and animal health to Oklahoma State University, attending from 1985–1996. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics in 1991 and went on to receive his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1996.
Veterinary medicine runs deep in Dr. Capron’s family. He is a third-generation veterinarian and the fourth veterinarian overall, following in the footsteps of his great-uncle, Daniel Paradee (Kansas State University, Class of 1950), his uncle Virgil “Jack” Capron (KSU, Class of 1965), and his father Kenneth Capron (KSU, Class of 1965). In 2006, Dr. Capron earned the distinction of Fellow of the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry (FAVD), becoming the first father-and-son pair to achieve Fellowship status.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Capron has practiced veterinary medicine across the country, spending 10 years in Las Vegas, Nevada, followed by 20 years in the Austin metropolitan area, primarily in Georgetown, Texas. His clinical interests include general medicine and surgery, with a special passion for routine and advanced veterinary dentistry, including endodontics, restorative dentistry, periodontics, oral radiology, and oral surgery.
In 2025, Dr. Capron and his family returned to Stillwater, Oklahoma, to be closer to aging parents and extended family—bringing his career full circle back to the community that shaped his professional foundation. He is excited to join the staff at Trinity Veterinary Hospital and to be part of a dedicated team of veterinarians and support staff known for providing exceptional, compassionate care.
“I’m honored to join a team that values both clinical excellence and genuine compassion.”
Outside the clinic, Dr. Capron enjoys spending time with his wife, Jenny, and their son, Cooper. Together they cheer on Oklahoma State University athletics, unwind with the Yellowstone series, and share their home with their cats, Gracie-Ray and Lassull. In May 2025, the family welcomed a Miniature Australian Shepherd puppy named Stilly.
